What will this cost each month?
$4.99 per parent for Pro. Free works for the basics.
OFW and TalkingParents cost more per parent. AppClose moved paid-only. Splitwise is cheaper, but not co-parent-first.
The easiest way to track and manage shared co-parent expenses. AI does the tedious work, so you don't have to. Free tier · $4.99/mo per user for Pro.
Free to start. Built by co-parents, for co-parents
You're not bad at tracking money — you're just using the wrong tools.
Same conversation, two perspectives. Receipts get lost. Memories disagree. The math drifts. ParentSplit puts the truth in one place — so neither of you has to remember.
ParentSplit is specifically designed for parents sharing custody—because we know how complicated it can get.
Whether it's 50/50 custody or any other arrangement, you need to track shared expenses. We make it painless.
Detailed PDF exports, timestamped records, receipts attached. If you need proof of what was spent, you've got it.
If your 'expense tracking' is a shared Google Sheet that one of you never updates—this is your upgrade.
Clear records mean fewer arguments. When everything is documented and approved, there's nothing to fight about.

From receipt to reimbursement in seconds — not hours.
Our advanced AI instantly reads your receipt and extracts the store name, amount, date, and even individual items. No typing required.
AI pre-fills every field — store, amount, category, split. Just tap confirm. The category gets smarter for each merchant you tag — same store next time, same category, no thinking.
End of the month, end of the week — whenever works for you. The app keeps the score accurately and automatically, so settling is always fair.
We didn't bolt "AI" on as a buzzword. ParentSplit uses Apple Vision and Google ML Kit on-device, with cloud vision (Google Vision, xAI Grok) as a fallback for the trickiest receipts.
Computer vision reads receipts fast — angled, dim, or wrinkled ones included. The toughest images fall back to cloud AI automatically.
AI pulls out store names, dates, totals, and individual line items—automatically. No manual entry required.
ParentSplit learns each merchant the first time you tag it — Costco → Groceries, Dr. Smith's office → Medical. Next scan from the same merchant comes pre-tagged. Falls back to a co-parenting-tuned keyword dictionary when there's no history.
On-device first (Apple Vision, ML Kit). Cloud fallback (Google Vision, xAI Grok). Your choice in Settings.

Tag any expense by child and see what each one actually costs you.
Expenses stay pending until both of you confirm. Disagree? Comment on the expense, not in texts.
Medical 70/30, school 50/50, extracurriculars 100/0 — set the rule once per category.
It doesn't matter what you have or what your co-parent has. ParentSplit ships on both, and changes sync between phones in real time.
One tap exports a clean PDF or spreadsheet for taxes, records, or your own files.

I've been co-parenting and splitting expenses 50/50 for 9 years. I tried spreadsheets, shared notes, text files in a "kids expenses" folder — something was always broken. Receipts got lost. Settling up ate hours every month. Fairness felt like something I had to hope for, not something I could see.
I'm not a developer. I'm an IT infrastructure guy who has dreamed of shipping a mobile app since the App Store launched in 2008. AI coding tools finally closed the gap between "I know what I need" and "I can actually build it."
So I spent the past year of nights and weekends building the app I wish I'd had 9 years ago. That's ParentSplit — simple, AI-powered, co-parent-first. If I built something that saves you even an hour a month, that's a win.

Free is free, forever — manual logging, 50/50 splits, running balance. Pro adds AI Receipt Scans, Custom Splits, and PDF Exports for $4.99/mo per user.
Pricing is per user. A shared workspace can have zero, one, or two Pro users. Pro features apply only to the account with an active Pro subscription; the other co-parent can stay Free unless they choose to upgrade.
We know this stuff is personal. Here's what we do to keep it safe.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Standard stuff, but important.
No ads, no data sales, no broker sharing. We disclose the service providers that process receipts, diagnostics, subscriptions, and optional analytics in the Privacy Policy.
Download a raw copy of your expense history anytime, on any plan. Documented PDF exports with receipts are a Pro feature.

No one has to pay; both co-parents can stay on Free. If one parent wants Pro features, only that parent subscribes. Pro follows the user account, not the workspace, so a shared workspace can have one Free user and one Pro user.
You can use it solo to track your own expenses. When they're ready, send them your invite code. Most people come around once they see it's easier than texting about money.
Yes, you can export documented records with timestamps — who added what, who approved what, and when. ParentSplit is not legal, tax, or financial advice, and we do not guarantee that any court, agency, or reviewer will accept a record.
There's a comment thread on every expense. Hash it out there instead of in texts. The expense stays pending until you both approve.
No — we never sell your data or use it for advertising. Cloud Scan sends receipt images to Google or xAI service providers for extraction; Quick Scan runs on-device where supported. Optional PostHog analytics loads only after consent and is not an ad pixel. When AI training is enabled, ParentSplit may use anonymized, redacted receipt, search, and assistant signals to improve ParentSplit AI; tone review training is separate and opt-in. External AI providers are not allowed to train their models on your data. Your expenses are visible only to you and your co-parent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Free: 3 AI receipt scans per month, 50/50 split, 90 days history. Pro ($4.99/mo per user): 50 AI scans per month, the ParentSplit AI copilot, custom splits, unlimited history, and documented exports for that subscribing account.
Takes about 2 minutes to set up. Invite your co-parent with a code. Start logging expenses. It's that simple.
